Left Quail

The left quail is a Tori Shogi piece that is the exact mirror opposite of the right quail.  The left quail gets it's name because it is stronger when placed on the left side of the board.  It can move any number of squares forward, and moves backwards on diagonals.  The diagonal movements are restricted, it can move any number of squares backwards to the right but only one square backwards to the left.
