Bishop - Angled attack
The bishop is the second most powerful piece in Shogi aside from the rook. Much like the bishop in Chess, it moves any number of squares along the diagonals.
Upon promotion, the bishop keeps it's regular moves and gains the ability to move one square horizontally or vertically. A promoted bishop can be thought of as moving like a bishop stapled to a king.
