Mini Shogi
Mini Shogi is a variation of Shogi played on a 5 by 5 board. It has exactly the same rules as standard Shogi except that the promotion zone contains only the last row. Mini Shogi games are typically quite short and feel a lot like the standard Shogi end game.
The first row is set up with the king at the left, followed by the gold general, silver general bishop and rook. The piece directly in front of the king is the pawn.
